Remember the days before search engines
Remember the days before the internet and search engines? If you didn't have a newish encyclopedia around the house, you would have to trudge down to the local library to find out about reference info, or flip through your phone book to find the contact info that you needed to reach friends and local businesses. Now that we have search engines, we have a wealth of information practically at our fingertips in any place that has internet access and a computer that we can use. I have found that the availability of search engines has begun to affect the way that we conduct conversations - whereas there used to be longer periods of argument when there were differences in people's memories or information, nowadays, it is no more than a few seconds before someone whips out a smart phone, and disputes are resolved with a few keystrokes.
